Tornado Watch issued May 25 at 9:08PM CDT until May 26 at 5:00AM CDT by NWS Topeka KS THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED TORNADO WATCH 311 IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 AM CDT SUNDAY FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN KANSAS THIS WATCH INCLUDES 10 COUNTIES IN EAST CENTRAL KANSAS ANDERSON COFFEY DOUGLAS FRANKLIN OSAGE SHAWNEE IN NORTHEAST KANSAS BROWN JACKSON JEFFERSON NEMAHA THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF BURLINGAME, BURLINGTON, CARBONDALE, GARNETT, GRANTVILLE, HIAWATHA, HOLTON, HORTON, LAWRENCE, LEBO, LYNDON, MCLOUTH, MERIDEN, NORTONVILLE, OSAGE CITY, OSKALOOSA, OTTAWA, OVERBROOK, PERRY, SABETHA, SENECA, TOPEKA, AND VALLEY FALLS.

Special Weather Statement issued May 25 at 9:18PM CDT by NWS Topeka KS Wind gusts of 50 to 55 MPH are expected even outside of thunderstorms through much of the evening along and south of Interstate 70. Locally higher gusts may be possible at times. These winds should start to diminish after midnight.
