Special Weather Statement issued May 15 at 6:28PM EDT by NWS Raleigh NC At 628 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Laurinburg, moving east at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts in excess of 30 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Laurinburg, Maxton, Antioch, Wagram, Gibson, East Laurinburg, Laurel Hill, and Sandhills Game Land. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 800 PM EDT for central North Carolina.
