Flood Watch issued May 17 at 2:15PM CDT until May 18 at 3:00PM CDT by NWS Tallahassee FL * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...Portions of southeast Alabama, including the following areas, Coffee, Dale, Geneva, Henry and Houston, Panhandle Florida, including the following areas, Holmes, Jackson and North Walton, and southwest Georgia, including the following areas, Baker, Calhoun, Clay, Dougherty, Early, Lee, Miller, Mitchell, Quitman, Randolph, Seminole and Terrell. * WHEN...Through Saturday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - The development of training thunderstorms over a stalled east-west boundary is expected to develop this afternoon, and into the evening across these areas. Geneva County in southeastern Alabama... Southeastern Houston County in southeastern Alabama... Jackson County in the Panhandle of Florida... Northern Walton County in the Panhandle of Florida... Holmes County in the Panhandle of Florida... Northern Washington County in the Panhandle of Florida... * Until 630 PM CDT. * At 507 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Slocomb to 12 miles north of Baker, moving east at 30 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * Locations impacted include... Cottonwood, De Funiak Springs, Bonifay, Geneva, Marianna, Chipley, Graceville, Hartford, Slocomb, Samson, Chattahoochee, Eglin Air Force Base, Bradford, Union, Liberty, Malone, Sneads, Malvern, Cottondale, and Grand Ridge. Flood Advisory issued May 17 at 5:50PM CDT until May 17 at 9:00PM CDT by NWS Tallahassee FL * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Portions of southeast Alabama, including the following counties, Geneva and Houston and Panhandle Florida, including the following counties, Holmes, Jackson, Walton and Washington. * WHEN...Until 900 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Dangerous flows over low-water crossings. Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 550 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
