Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Repeated rounds of showers and thunderstorms capable of heavy rain are expected late week through the weekend. Already wet soils in some areas will make flooding more susceptible, especially with each additional round of rainfall. Special Weather Statement issued July 9 at 4:38PM EDT by NWS Louisville KY At 438 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 9 miles southeast of Winslow, moving east at 20 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Jasper, Huntingburg, Ferdinand, Holland, Dubois, Saint Marks, Millersport, Bretzville, Duff, and Huntingburg Airport. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
