Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Multiple rounds of storms will be moving through the area beginning tonight and continuing into Saturday morning. 3 to 6 inches of rainfall with locally higher amounts will be possible, enhancing the flash flooding threat. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Mississippi River At Red River Landing affecting West Feliciana, East Baton Rouge and Pointe Coupee Parishes. For the Lower Mississippi River...including Red River Landing, Baton Rouge, Donaldsonville, Reserve, New Orleans...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Mississippi River at Red River Landing. * WHEN...Until Saturday, June 01. * IMPACTS...At 51.0 feet, All river islands along the reach from Red River Landing to Baton Rouge will be inundated. Recreational camps and river bottom farm land will be under water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:00 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 49.4 feet. - Bankfull stage is 46.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 51.5 feet early Monday afternoon and will likely remain above flood through the end of the month. - Flood stage is 48.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas.
