HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Goldsboro, Smithfield, Nashville, Wilson, Elm City, Fremont, Walnut Creek, Bailey, Micro, and Selma. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

Flood Advisory issued May 14 at 7:39PM EDT until May 14 at 9:30PM EDT by NWS Raleigh NC * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of central North Carolina, including the following counties, Harnett and Johnston. * WHEN...Until 930 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Overflowing poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 735 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms over Johnston County. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Up to 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Excessive rainfall is occurring in Johnston County. While the heavy rain has moved out of Harnett County, there may be lingering ponding of water on roadways due to earlier heavy rainfall. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Smithfield, Clayton, Dunn, Benson, Micro, Selma, Erwin, Coats, Four Oaks, Pine Level, Kenly, Princeton, Coats Crossroads, Flowers, Emit, Buies Creek and Buckhorn Reservoir. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Slow down and use caution while driving to avoid hydroplaning. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
