Flood Watch issued July 2 at 11:35AM CDT until July 3 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS La Crosse WI Much of the area received heavy rainfall overnight especially along and south of Interstate 90 across southeast Minnesota and southwest Wisconsin. Many rivers and low lying areas are already flooding or experience high water with more rain expected over the next 24 to 48 hours. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of Iowa, including the following counties, Allamakee, Chickasaw, Clayton, Fayette, Floyd, Howard, Mitchell and Winneshiek and Wisconsin, including the following counties, Crawford, Grant, La Crosse, Monroe, Richland and Vernon. * WHEN...Through Friday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Much of the area received heavy rainfall overnight especially along and south of Interstate 90 across southeast Minnesota and southwest Wisconsin. Kickapoo River at Readstown affecting Vernon County. Kickapoo River at Viola affecting Richland and Vernon Counties. Kickapoo River at Ontario affecting Monroe and Vernon Counties. Kickapoo River at Soldiers Grove affecting Crawford County. ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Wisconsin... Kickapoo River at La Farge affecting Richland and Vernon Counties. Kickapoo River at Gays Mills affecting Crawford County. .Up to 4 inches of rain fell near Ontario Wisconsin overnight. This rain routing downstream, combined with the additional precipitation of around 1 inch will lead to flooding along the Kickapoo River. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Kickapoo River at Gays Mills. * WHEN...From late tonight to Tuesday morning. * IMPACTS...At 15.0 feet, Moderate flooding is possible in and around Gays Mills. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:30 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 10.5 feet. - Bankfull stage is 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late tonight to a crest of 14.8 feet Sunday morning.
