Many rivers and low lying areas are already flooding or experience high water with more rain expected over the next 24 to 48 hours. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of Iowa, including the following counties, Allamakee, Chickasaw, Clayton, Fayette, Floyd, Howard, Mitchell and Winneshiek and Wisconsin, including the following counties, Crawford, Grant, La Crosse, Monroe, Richland and Vernon. * WHEN...Through Friday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Much of the area received heavy rainfall overnight especially along and south of Interstate 90 across southeast Minnesota and southwest Wisconsin. Flood Warning issued July 2 at 3:19PM CDT until July 2 at 8:15PM CDT by NWS La Crosse WI Corrected to relay that water is not actively over highway 14 and 162. * WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is ongoing on Coon Creek in Coon Valley. * WHERE...A portion of southwest Wisconsin, including the following county, northwestern Vernon. * WHEN...Until 815 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 315 PM CDT, Coon Creek in Coon Valley has been out of its banks for much of the day. Additional rainfall may exacerbate ongoing high water. Between 3 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... River banks and culverts can become unstable and unsafe.
