Tornado Warning issued May 21 at 8:11PM CDT until May 21 at 8:30PM CDT by NWS Green Bay WI At 810 PM CDT, a severe squall line capable of producing both tornadoes and extensive straight line wind damage was located along a line extending from near New Wood Wildlife Area to Merrill to near Wausau, moving northeast at 70 mph. HAZARD...Tornado. SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. These dangerous storms will be near... Merrill, Dutch Corners, and Birch Trails Girl Scout Camp around 815 PM CDT. Tomahawk and Gilbert around 820 PM CDT. Harrison and Parrish around 825 PM CDT. Veterans Memorial County Park around 835 PM CDT. Other locations impacted by these tornadic storms include Ackley Wildlife Area, Dudley, Kempster, Ormsby, Otis, Bavaria, Deerbrook, Camp Phillips Scout Camp, Otter Lake Campground, and Hogarty. Motorists should not take shelter under highway overpasses. If you cannot safely drive away from the tornado, as a last resort, either park your vehicle and stay put, or abandon your vehicle and lie down in a low lying area and protect yourself from flying debris.
